Noise pollution ranked second among the environmental stressors for public health impact. In silence zones such as hospitals and school area adults and children are in significant number. In many silence zones sound level is not maintained as per the specified rules which causes bad impact on people’s health. The main objective of this paper is to propose a prototype that will detect the silence zone and automatically turn off the DJ system and also warn the respective authority if sound level is above the specified level in areas other than silence zones. It will help in providing an automated solution to reduce the sound pollution using a microcontroller and RF module, GSM. RF module is used to detect the silence zones and GSM used for sending the message to concerned authority when sound is beyond permissible level. Basically, the system will detect the silence zone with the help of RF transmitter and receiver pair and turn off the DJ system. If sound goes above the limit then with the help of GSM message is sent. This prototype was successfully implemented and tested with different conditions of sound and can be used to help the society to overcome the sound pollution to some extent. |
