Popis: | This article presents views of a discipline termed safety pharmacology or general pharmacology. This is an area that provides information through empirical studies on new pharmacologic agents at doses above those thought to be efficacious and the no-toxicologic-effect level (NOEL) above which unwanted effects might occur. The usefulness of batteries of tests is discussed, and comments are made about the value of these in the drug developmental process. |
