The field of the ground wave is considered, which is created by a vertical electric dipole over a inhomogeneous Earth's surface. The ground wave field is of interest at distances when the influence of the waves reflected from the ionosphere on the field can be neglected. For long radio paths with relatively "poor" conductivity, it is proposed to calculate the attenuation function of the ground wave field using the Kalinin-Feinberg's formula for electrically inhomogeneous radio paths. At the initial homogeneous section of the path, the attenuation function is calculated from the model of the "flat" surface of the Earth using Sommerfeld's formulas. |
