Popis: | Amsterdam is the capital of the Netherlands and known for its rich artistic heritage, which includes canals, museums, beautiful ecosystem. The canals are the backbone of this beautiful city. They serve various functions such as defense, water management, and transport. With Amsterdam’s extensive recreational resources and convenient accessibility, it attracts many tourists throughout the year. Although increased tourism has led to significant economic benefits, it has also caused pollution and unbalanced development, which have severely degraded the environment and canal ecosystem. With the help of the System Dynamics (SD) approach, we develop an effective Decision Support System (DSS) to address the issue of pollution related to increased tourism. An SD model, based on the driving-force, state, and response indicator set, was used to enable the integration of the various interlinked factors causing this problem. A DSS based on the SD model was implemented using the VENSIM and STELLA software. This DSS enables decision-makers to perform scenario analysis by allowing them to incorporate their decision preferences. |
