We investigate the influence of subsequent discrediting of a newspaper article on response behavior (evaluative beliefs) on direct and indirect measures. The information of one article is refuted in the aftermath, that of the other is confirmed to be true. Two different articles are presented describing inappropriate behaviour of politicians (nepotism and misappropriation of tax funds). A direct measurement of attitude is assessed in a questionnaire and an indirect measurement is assessed by the Propositional Evaluation Paradigm. |
