Popis: | The stretching of PETP chains has been studied by the Monte Carlo method. It has been shown that the change in conformational composition occurs mainly on account of an increase in the number of trans-isomers of the C-C bond of the glycol residue. The content of such trans-isomers has been calculated and compared with an experiment in which the degree of stretching was varied. Calculation showed that for stretching-up to a multiplicity λ⩽4, no substantial change in trans-isomer content was observed whilst with an amorphous polymer, close to Tg, this change was large. This difference is explained by crystallization, induced by stretching. |
