In recent years, the sustainability of engineering materials and its impact on the environment has been a subject of great prominence. The Natural Fiber Reinforced Composites (NFRCs), a rapidly advancing field of study, is a prominent and promising alternative to the conventional engineering metals due to its nature and its compatibility to be used as reinforcing agent. In this mini review, the potentials of the NFRCs and factors affecting the surface roughness during drilling operation is reviewed. This work also discusses some of the most prominent physical and chemical treatments for the NFRCs to achieve proper compatibility of the composite with respect to the desired function. |
