A novel type of parametric oscillation has been observed in Na atomic vapor, where four Stokes/anti-Stokes-shifted waves, mutually coupled by electromagnetically induced diffraction, simultaneously burst into oscillation with high conversion efficiency under excitation by resonant counter-propagating pump beams with elliptic beam profiles. |
