In this chapter we describe two applications that have an important impact on the overall aesthetic appearance of the facial profile. The chin is the most prominent structure in the lower third of the face. Fat grafting in this area represents a simple tool for achieving projection in patients who need minor or moderate correction as well as in those who are unwilling to undergo interventions with alloplastic materials or other techniques but wish to improve this area. The fat technique described in this chapter is a good complement to a rhinoplasty performed in order to harmonize the facial profile. With regard to the prejowls, although the facelift achieves a major correction, injection of fat in this area not only improves outcomes but also helps prevent volume depletions after surgery and delays their reappearance [1, 2]. |
