Obtaining dimethylalkylamines from CO, H2 and (CH3)2NH by the modified Fischer-Tropsch synthesis on a reduced fused magnetite catalyst: molecular weight distribution of the products and synthesis mechanism

Popis: The composition of the synthesis products obtained from CO, H2 and dimethylamine on a reduced fused magnetite catalyst has been studied. The molecular weight distribution of all the identified product components has been found to adhere to the Schulz-Flory equation. Alkanes have been shown to have a distribution coefficient α different from that for olefins, alcohols, ketones and dimethylalkylamines (DMAA). A mechanism of the modified Fischer-Tropsch synthesis has been suggested for the production of DMAA and ketones.
