Popis: The effect of the processing stages in production of nonwoven material on the size and position of its capillaries in the bulk of the material was investigated; a decrease in the capillary diameter as the needle-punching density increases was found. It was shown that nonwovens are characterized by a communicating system of capillaries. Heat treatment decreases the capillary diameter to 100-130 μm and causes the appearance of closed capillaries inaccessible to filling with sorbate. The optimum areas of application of nonwovens obtained in different production stages were determined.
