Popis: | The use of an unnatural host, Lenia trilineata trivittata (Say) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae), for rearing the exotic egg parasite Anaphes flavipes (Foerster) (Hymenoptera: Mymaridae), a natural parasite of the cereal leaf beetle, Oulema melanopus (L.) (Coleoptera: Chrysomelidae) is discussed. Comparisons are made of productivity of A. fluvipes on the 2 hosts before and after treatment of eggs and selective pressure on the parasite reared on the unnatural host. Evidence of intraspecific differences in A. flavipes is demonstrated, and it is shown that among the biotypes tested there is no evidence of a change in host preference. |
