Popis: | This paper describes design innovations introduced in the development of a new prefabricated 138kV joint for oil-filled cables, applicable on both pipe type and self contained systems. It also reviews the manufacture and tests of prototype joints which demonstrate the integrity and reliability of the design. Advantages of these prefabricated joints are summarized, including the feature of factory pretesting, and significant economies in installation cost and time are recognized. |
