| Popis: | Payment by results was introduced to provide a transparent system of funding for trusts, rewarding efficiency. The authors are aware that outpatient joint injections currently carry no mandatory tariff. Hyaluronic acid (HA) viscosupplementation in particular, is frequently performed by departments at significant pharmaceutical cost. This study investigates the size of the problem, and discusses issues of cost-effectiveness. |
