Popis: Summary form only given. We have performed pump-probe spectroscopy with 50 fs temporal resolution, where pump and probe were centered at 403 nm, produced by a frequency-doubled 1 kHz amplified Ti:sapphire system, in order to get more insight in the initial dynamics in solution, where features like cage effect, recombination and relaxation to the ground state as well as reaction with the solvent may occur. The absorption spectrum of ClO/sub 2/ in cyclohexane as well as the laser spectrum are shown. In addition the positions of the gas-phase vibronic transitions are depicted, 250 cm/sup -1/ red-shifted to match the solvation shift. It is clear that most notably the (6,0,0) and (5,0,2) states will be excited with the laser pulses.
