This paper will attempt to review the urban land policy and policy measures of Malaysia in her effort to pursue the objectives of her development plans. There is no doubt that many policy measures to control and influence urban land development are similar to those of other countries. But because of the effort to correct the social and spatial imbalances in a multi-racial society, Malaysia is experimenting with land measures which may be of interest to other countries with similar problems. Still, the evolution of the urban land policy in Malaysia is at an early stage. As such, there are imperfections and vagueness. |
