Popis: SummaryFrom June 1953 to June 1955, 42 patients admitted to the hospital for non-tuberculous acute pneumopathies have been treated with penicillin alone or associated with sulfamides. Out of 32 patients of more than 50 years of age, 20 suffered from complications — mainly vascular — and 7 died. The rapid fall in temperature observed in nearly all the treated cases is a demonstration of the persistent efficacity of these microbicidal drugs. Owing to the scarceness of secondary reactions, it is desirable to continue to prescribe them in the treatment of acute pneumopathies. Wider range antibiotics should be kept for resistant cases.
