Popis: | This paper presents results of a comparative assessment of the availability of alternative differential GPS (DGPS) precision approach and landing system architectures. The baseline availability for comparison is developed based on the performance of the current Instrument Landing System (ILS). The analysis addresses the number and positioning of geostationary satellites that are needed to achieve the availability requirements and identifies a possible role for pseudolites. Analysis of temporal availability characteristics of DGPS provides additional operational insight. |
