Popis: | The rate coefficient for the reaction N 2 + + O → NO + + N at 300°K has been measured to be k 1a = 2.5(± 1) × 10 −10 cm 3 se −1 . No previous laboratory measurements of this reaction rate at thermal energies have been reported. This reaction clearly plays an important role in the E - and F1 -regions of the ionosphere, accounting for significant N 2 + loss, outweighing the N 2 + loss rate with molecular oxygen. |
