Popis: | The low-temperature thermal conductivity of lithium nitride (Li3N) shows a temperature dependence which is typical for a good dielectric crystal with K(T) varies as T3 below about 1.5K. Its absolute value, however, is about 2.6 times smaller than expected. A quantitative analysis shows that this extra phonon scattering may be understood in terms of two-level systems which couple to longitudinal and fast transverse phonons but not at all to slow transverse phonons. |
