Effects of chirp mechanism on spectrum broadening of external modulators

Popis:	We show that a LiNbO/sub 3/ Mach-Zehnder modulator (MZM) with optical unbalancing in the two waveguides produces a chirped NRZ data stream without inducing spectral broadening as it happens with conventional chirped MZM (which employ electrical asymmetry).
