Popis: | A routine performance test on gas turbines involves the measurement of gas temperatures and pressures at a prescribed series of points in the combustion-chamber exit. A scheme is described for doing this entirely automatically, while making the conversion from manual operation and human control with the least alteration to existing equipment. Instructions and point coordinates are supplied from punched tape, the measuring head is positioned by servos operating from digital information, the ‘ steady-reading ’ condition of the measuring instrument is detected by a simple circuit and the digital reading is stored before being typed in a standard layout on an electric typewriter.
