Popis: | This paper describes our experimental study on CO2 removal by means of ammonia scrubbing. The experiment has been performed in an open continuous flow reactor under various operation conditions. The preliminary experimental results are very promising. It is observed that the removal efficiencies are quite stable in the range from 95% to 99% under proper conditions. When the inlet concentrations of CO2 are 10–14% (v/v), respectively, and the removal efficiencies are more than 90%, the effect of inlet CO2 concentration on its removal is minimal. This indicates that the ammonia solution with a high potential scrubbing capacity has a fast absorption rate. It is also proved that the ammonium bicarbonate is the main product of the CO2–NH3 reaction in this experiment. Studies on capturing CO2 greenhouse gas by ammonia scrubbing show that the CO2–NH3 reaction conforms to Arrhenius' law in the range of experimental temperatures. |
