Popis: | Rural hydraulics is a sector that has attracted great attention in recent decades in Senegal, with in particular the need to obtain convincing results, and the expectation of Projects and Programs in line with the SDGs. In this logic, do the infrastructures already put in place have the aim of providing a lasting solution to the problem of water supply in rural areas. Applied in a department (Nioro du Rip) which has 15 municipalities, this study aims to assess the real motivation of the actors and the perception of the populations on the services of drinking water supply. To provide better answers to our questions, we have adopted a descriptive and analytical approach. The approach consists of meeting with 8 presidents of the ASUFOR Federation, 8 local elected representatives and 120 people spread over 8 out of 15 municipalities in the department. The results indicated by an overwhelming observation with a multitude of hydraulic structures built whose management remains disastrous. In addition, there is an absence of monitoring, the problem of water quality noted in practically all the boreholes visited, non-unified pricing and a high cost per m3 of water. Thus, despite all the efforts made in this sector, there are many constraints whose fight requires a more optimal management of water resources.
