Popis: Flexible electronics are gaining interest and viability. This chapter traces a path to current state-of-the-art flexible devices. It examines key substrate issues and the suitability of metal foil properties, including temperature and process ruggedness and inherent low-moisture permeation rates, to diverse applications including displays and lighting. Electronic devices fabricated on metal foils, including organic light-emitting diodes, thin-film transistors, and photovoltaic devices, are reviewed and an outlook on the industry is provided.
