Optimization of Long Period Grating Parameters to Design a Mach-Zehnder Interferometer for WDM Applications

Popis: This paper reports the design of a new type of Mach‐Zehnder Interferometer (MZI) by using two concatenated fourth order Gaussian Apodized‐linear chirped long period gratings (LPGs) which have a flat‐band of 22.6 nm with top flatness around 0.5 dB and Full Width Half Maxima (FWHM) of 52 nm in the transmission spectrum. The designed MZI finds applications in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) channel isolation filter. The parameters of LPG have been optimized by using advanced OptiGrating 4.2 software. Also it is compared with two other designed MZIs configurations.
