Popis: Digital micro-mirror devices (DMDs) have emerged as a cost-effective and flexible alternative to traditional approaches for light control, such as spatial light modulators, diffractive optics and metamaterials. We will outline key aspects of their operation, recent progress on how to effectively use them to create and detect exotic states of light (particularly arbitrary vector beams) and to mimic turbulence.
