The effect of minor additions of Nb on the mechanical properties of precipitation-hardened Cu-2% Co alloys

Popis:	The variation of yield stress and peak-hardness of aged Cu-2w/o Co alloy with the addition of Nb, in amounts less than its solubility limit in Co, has been studied. The change in yield stress, Δ[sgrave]o, has been explained in terms of decrease in the misfit parameter, e, and local order in the s-Co precipitate, induced by Nb. The rise in hardness of Cu-Co-Nb alloys has been attributed to Xb as the promoter of s→X transformation in Co during hardness measurements.
