Popis: | In this paper, we introduce a fuzzy prediction model for water demand prediction of a waterworks. The fuzzy prediction model employs an interpolative fuzzy reasoning method previously proposed by the authors of this paper. This method is beneficial because the outcome membership function is not likely to produce a complicated shape. Accurate prediction of water demand is difficult because various factors affect this value. The fuzzy prediction model generates a fuzzy set consisting of a simple shape, which expresses both the representative value and the support interval of a predicted water demand. The support interval covers the prediction error range. Because the fuzzy set's membership function has a simple shape, the waterworks operator is able to interpret quantitatively the predicted water demand quite easily and can generate an appropriate plan for maintaining a stable water supply. This paper evaluates the effectiveness of the proposed method using actual waterworks data. |
