IE TCD MS 1728/5: Summons, (printed form and filled in in manuscript, with additional short letter in manuscript), sent from the House of Lords in London, 23rd February 1825 to William Shaw Mason Esqr. Dublin Castle; headed "House of Lords. By the Select Committee appointed to consider of the State of Ireland. Ordered that William Shaw Mason Esqr. be requested to attend to give evidence before the said Committee; and that the clerk be directed to write to him accordingly. Sir, In pursuance of the above Order, I have to request your attendance at the Bar of the House of Lords on Tuesday the 8th of March next at 1/4 before 4 o'clock, to be sworn, to give evidence before the said Committee. And you are further requested to attend the said Committee, on Wednesday the 9th of March at 12 o'clock, for the purpose of being examined." Signed by J.W. B[irch?], Clerk to the Committee, 23 February 1825. Included is a short letter from the signee on page [3]: "Sir, Should there be any material obstacle to your attending the House of Lords at the time specified, if you will state the same to me I will beg your letter before the Committee and in that case I have to request you to name the earliest period to which you can attend."
