Shewanella putrefaciens is a Gram-negative bacillus and marine pathogen that rarely causes disease in humans. We present the case of a previously healthy pediatric patient with a sharp wound and septic monoarthritis of the left knee due to Shewanella putrefaciens, we describe the bacteriological, and clinical characteristics and antibiogram of this bacteria spp since resistance patterns must be taken into account when managing patients, so as not to induce intrinsic antimicrobial resistance. |
