Popis: It was intended to concept of the metaphor for the first grade students of the elementary school in this study and The study was designed as a qualitative method. The study sample was created by 112 students selected in maximum diversity. The interview forms were used to collect the data. 3 questions were asked to determine the form of metaphors they create for the participants to read and write. The questions were „ what is reading and writing for you?‟‟ Can you tell me why do you think like that?‟‟What is literate person for you?‟‟Why?‟ What is illiterate person for you?‟‟Why?‟. The data obtained by the interview forms, respectively; coding data, finding theme, classifying and identifying the data according to the codes and themes, expressing the data as percentages, calculating the frequency of meaning metaphor or installed and tabulation, interpretating of findings, presenting the results and recommendating were performed. According to result of the research, it was identified that the first grade students have developed the positive meatphors against reading, writing and literate people but they have developed negative metaphors against illiterate people
