The sensor networks application domain continues to increase with the need for an effective security mechanism. Routing receives the most attention since they are among the daily network routines. Due the insecure nature of wireless communication channels, these networks are vulnerable to internal and external attacks. The security plays an important role in the ability to deploy and retrieve trustworthy data from a wireless sensor network. However, because of limited resources of a sensor node, the development of a mechanism that ensures security is a real design challenges. While those with rotating cluster heads, such as LEACH, have also advantages in terms of security, the dynamic nature of their communication makes most existing security solutions inadequate for them. A hacker can use a wireless device to get access to the sensor network. There is a need for security mechanisms aware of the challenges of this kind of network. In this work, we are interested in securing the LEACH protocol, one of the most hierarchical routing protocols for WSNs. Simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed approach. |
