Popis:	A new method has been developed for the synthesis of styrenes through the decarboxylation of trans-cinnamic acids by plant cell cultures at room temperature. 4-Hydroxy-3-methoxystyrene (2a), 3-nitrostyrene (2d) and furan (2e) were synthesized quantitatively.
