Popis: | In the present work, the Polymer Dispersed Liquid Crystals(PDLCs)are prepared using Thermo-PIPS method. The sample contains Nematic Liquid Crystal (NLC) TL205 which is Halogenated bi-ter phenyls with aliphatic tails of length of 2–5 Carbons and Pre-polymer PN393 (mixture of acrylate monomer) that form a crossed link network on polymerization. The ratio of NLC: Pre-Polymer is 80:20. In this mixture we have dispersed small concentrations (≤1%by wt) of Zinc oxide nanoparticles and (≤ 0.05%by wt.)of Multi Walled Carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) separately. The PDLCs doped with ZnO nanoparticles(NP) and PDLCs doped with MWCNTs are then studied for Structural changes using Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy(FTIR), the most preferred technique for material analysis and UV-Visible spectroscopy in Transmission mode in order to have an insight on PDLCs nanoparticles interaction. FTIR spectra reveals that % transmission in IR region is maximum for the sample of PDLC doped with 1% ZnO NP. The analysis of UV-Visible spectra suggest that there is a shift in value of wavelength(nm) and corresponding value of central minima however no significant changes are observed in PDLCs doped with MWCNTs samples studied. |
