Interest in Rocket Grade Hydrogen Peroxide (RGHP) has been renewed in recent years by the search for a non-toxic alternative to rocket propellents currently in use. Innovations have increased the efficiency of the utilization of energy obtained from the decomposition of hydrogen peroxide. Concentrations of RGHP in excess of 98% can be heterogeneously decomposed with the use of various catalytic-impregnated ceramic substrates. The data acquisition and control system, which have been designed to characterize each catalyst system, are outlined. Recent results obtained with the use of these systems and are also included. |
