Popis: | Zinc electrode rest potentials were measured in concentrated KOH-K{sub 2}Zn(OH){sub 4}-H{sub 2}O electrolytes from 15{degrees} to 55{degrees}C. Experimental values of the Zn electrode potential and the variation of the Zn electrode potential with temperature in Zn(OH){sub 4}{sup 2{minus}} saturated KOH-K{sub 2}H{sub 2}O electrolytes, were consistent with calculated values. The error in the rest potentials due to H{sub 2} evolution on the Zn electrodes was estimated to be less than 1.0 mV. A general correlation for the Zn electrode potential as a function of electrolyte concentration and temperature is given. |
