Popis: Several well-described methods exist for creating the gastrojejunostomy during a laparoscopic Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. The most common methods include a circular stapled anastomosis using the EEA stapler and a linear-stapled anastomosis using a gastrointestinal anastomosis (GIA) stapler followed by a hand-sewn or stapled closure of the common gastroenterotomy. A third approach utilizes a fully hand-sewn technique. These varied technical approaches provide different aperture sizes which may influence post-operative weight loss and weight recidivism as well as post-operative complications, especially gastrojejunal anastomotic stricture rates.
