Conflict, technical efficiency of resource poor farmers: A stochastic frontier analysis

Popis:	This study investigates the impact of conflict on technical efficiency of resource poor farmers in Akwa Ibom State of Nigeria. Stochastic frontier production function employed for the analysis reveals a wide variation of efficiency index across the farms and within farmers in conflict and non-conflict communities with maximum values of 0.96; 0.90, minimum values 0.13; 0.29, mean values of 0.72 and 0.62 in the two communities respectively. The result also reveals that farms in conflict communities are 52.63% efficient between 90–100% while farms in non-conflict are 17.02% efficient between 90–100%.This indicates that large room exists for the improvement in production through improved technical efficiency.
