Among a set of sixty comagmatic xenoliths of basalts and trachytes coming from the French “Massif Central”, the samples richest in included gases have been selected with a crushing super-stage. Their minerals have been separated, studied under the microscope and, in the end, vacuum crushed. The gases, thus extracted, have been analysed with the mass spectrometer. The results of twenty-two analyses are presented. They show that CO2 is the major fluid constituent of the inclusions of very deep origin minerals. The geochemical implications of this fact are debated. |
