Popis: We discovered a “tug-of-war” effect in a multilayer solvation sheath: direct solvent–nonsolvent and indirect Li+–nonsolvent interactions were leveraged to tune binding energy between Li+ and solvent, thereby leading to a loosened solvation sheath.
