Popis: Autoimmune connective tissue diseases (CTDs), including lupus, dermatomyositis, and others, are dermatological and systemic diseases which can be affected by and can affect pregnancy. There are no consensus guidelines for treating cutaneous CTDs in pregnancy, and many of the CTDs have not been studied in the context of pregnancy due to their rarity. Dermatomyositis tends to stabilize or improve during pregnancy and flare post-partum. Cutaneous lupus can flare during pregnancy, but pre-conception disease control reduces risks in pregnancy. In CTDs, the amount of disease activity mirrors risks to the fetus, with disease control for 6 months prior to conception being an indicator for favorable outcomes.
