Popis: | This paper presents the results of an investigation on the machining characteristics of nodular cast iron in both the as-cast and the annealed conditions. Tool forces, cutting temperatures, and tool-chip contact areas are compared for different grades of cemented-carbide tools. An adhesion phenomenon observed with this material provides evidence in support of the oxide-film theory and provides an explanation for some of the differences in wearing qualities of cemented-carbide tools. |
