This paper considers the design of continuous-time state-feedback Hinfin control for large scale systems. The optimal Hinfin state feedback gain is deduced using Chandrasekhar-type equations. This deduction allows to compute the control gain matrix and attenuation level through numerical integration techniques. This leads to great performance enhancement when the number of inputs and disturbances is small compared to the number of states. When applied to large sparse systems, further computational burden is reduced using sparsity techniques. Performance enhancement is verified through numerical simulation of the proposed technique applied to a large scale power system model |
