Evidence for a background contribution to the decay rate of concentration fluctuations in ethane + propane near the critical point

Popis:	Measurements of the decay rate of concentration fluctuations in the binary liquid–vapor mixture ethane + propane (43.42 mole % ethane) were made along the critical isochore near the critical point using photon correlation spectroscopy. The data are compared with mode–mode coupling calculations for the critical part of the decay rate, and it is shown that a large background term must be included.
