Popis: | Forgiveness may be one way that people make meaning following interpersonal traumas. Research supports the efficacy of interventions designed to promote forgiveness. However, that research is limited and does not give us a full picture of how to effectively facilitate forgiveness in therapy. In this chapter we address these topics with special attention focused on forgiveness as a meaning-making process. We illustrate our discussion of the literature with a case example of a man who overcame significant childhood abuse, worked toward forgiveness, and through the process developed a strong source of meaning for his life. |
