Popis:	T his paper describes an experiment in compressing a flat high-strength steel between two smooth dies. The object was to compare the yielding loads determined experimentally with those from analysis based upon the plastic-rigid theory of plasticity. Except for very thin plates where the experimental scatter obscures the test results, it was found that the theory and experiments agree well.
