Popis: | Here we present an improved ultrasonic study of the elastic moduli of polycrystalline fullerites C60 and C70 in the temperature range 77–340 K at pressures up to 2.5 GPa. The elastic properties of these fullerites at normal conditions were accurately measured using an ultrasonic technique. The anomalies in the dependencies of elastic characteristics were identified as phase transition points. The observed high values of the pressure derivatives of the bulk modulus of C60 are discussed in terms of the central m-n power potential and contribution of non-central intermolecular forces. |
