Popis: The rabbit bone-to-bone (BTB) model has been developed to investigate the effects of controlled load on the graft healing process. The previous rabbit BTB model was modified using a NiTi spring to investigate the effects of controlled constant load on autograft healing in this study. The results were evaluated biomechanically 6 weeks after implantation. The modulus of the constant-loading group was significantly higher than that of the unloaded control, and there was a significant difference in the linear stiffness between the constant-loading and the cyclic-loading group. The linear stiffness of the cyclic-loading group was higher than that of the constant-loading group. In conclusion, constant loading is effective to prevent graft tissue weakening in the regeneration process. However, the effectiveness of constant tension was inferior to that of the cyclic tension.
