Africa in general and Kenya in particular are experiencing a digital revolution. The continent is still behind the rest of the world, but increasingly catching up. Kenya is the leading force in East Africa and has established some highly advanced tech enterprises, to such an extent that these places are called Silicon Savannah. iHub is one such creative, technological enterprise. Based on a qualitative study, iHub is found to influence the society through helping enterprises using social media and technology to promote and communicate their vision and merchandise. This is done through a bottom-up approach, in a local setting but using global technology and in a global environment. |
